In this episode I talk to Scott Zimmerman, Vern Fergesen, Annie Dilocker, and Kaire Berreckman about how they turned their passion for music into a teaching gig. We chat about teaching kids to play music, what parents should know, what kids should expect, and the rewards for helping our youth discover the joys of music. We also talk about Omaha Girls Rock, a great organization for young girls who want to learn to build a band and learn an instrument. Day Gig is an ongoing series dedicated to talking to musicians about what they do for a living when they are not on stage.

New split EP and tour – Show at the Waiting Room See Through Dresses are releasing an EP titled “End of Days” and have a show this weekend at the Waiting Room Lounge with Dan Mariska, The Boys Choir, and Bed Rest. The EP will be available in multiple formats including vinyl and cassette for all you alternative audiophiles. It’s also a split with label mates It Looks Sad. Recently, Sarah, Matt, and Alex stopped by the Worlds of Wayne Podcast studio to share a few songs, talk about the record, upcoming tour, and explain how bruises, near concussions, cuts to the face, and headstocks to the crotch are all just part of the dangers of being in a band with Sara. In this episode I welcome Omaha-based freelance writer Leo Biga into the studio to talk about his career and upcoming projects. He is well known as a feature writer for the Reader Magazine and has contributed articles for many local and national publications as well as work on various book projects and scripts.
